Welcome to Click to Thank – a campaign to thank Web sites simply by clicking on their ads.
Many people mistakenly believe that ads on the Web are all a scam, an annoyance, something to be avoided.
Certainly there are unsavory ads out there. But avoiding all ads is not a mark of Web savvy or sophistication.
Actually, it’s kind of uncool to the makers of the site, and perhaps, even a little selfish. Here’s why:
- Most Web sites work very hard to find ads (or ad networks) that will help their visitors the most.
- Most Web advertisers have created products and services they believe will help people. And they want to let people know about them as best they can.
If you like something you find on a Web site, there are many things you can do to show your thanks: post a comment, tell a friend, recommend it to a social network site, visit again later, and so forth.
But the most direct, and effective, way to let the Web site’s publishers know you appreciate what they have posted is to simply:
- Look for your favorite ad on the site.
- Click the ad to view it right away, or right-click the ad and open it in another tab for later. On many computers, you can also click down on the mouse wheel to open the ad in another tab on your browser.
- Take a moment and check out the ad’s Web site.
And that’s it. Easy, and very cool to everyone who helped make the site possible.
If nobody clicks, then great Web sites will just fade away. So be cool. Take a moment to click, and send your thanks to the people who work hard to enrich your life.
Thanks for visiting, and please tell your friends and associates about the Click to Thank campaign. We appreciate your support.
